You know the look; it seems as if there is a spark; you can see it in their face. The smile is real, not forced. It’s like you can tell someone is thinking about something—but what is it?
What’s the twinkle in your eye these days, or is it missing?
When I think about the first week of ’21…
…there is a twinkle in my eye for my wife, Belinda; I look for ways to support what’s important to her. I want to see her flourish. I feel compassion and joy for her.
…there is a twinkle in my eye for my work, especially in Kansas City. I’m praying for relationships that are personal and real. I want less transactional thinking and more transformation. Loving our neighbor has never been more needed.
…I think there is a twinkle in God’s eye for His kids to get along and collaborate to pursue disciple-making in all the various manifestations of church and ministry. Children coming home to know their Father’s love is the endgame—then everyone will have a twinkle in their eye.
Can we pause before the rush of the first work week to gain perspective?
Is there a twinkle in your eye?
I’d love to hear about it.
