Miranda joins Gary Kendall for Season 4 of the BLESS podcast as a co-host. Let’s get to know Miranda.
Miranda Mendez is a dynamic leader who has spent the last 13 years in public education as an educator, building principal, and district leader. In 2016, Miranda’s spiritual journey created new passions and pathways she never imagined possible.
Miranda recently served as a full-time staff member at Westside Family Church as the Community IMPACT School Partnership Director. During this time, she worked closely with the Caring for Kids Network to expand both organization’s missions rooted in serving the next generation’s hearts and minds. COVID-19 created challenges and changes to the position, and thus, Miranda is waiting with great anticipation for doors God is opening in this next season.
Miranda launched Crowd Ministries in June 2020; Crowd Ministries is a social ministry for men and women in the stands raising Christian student-athletes in secondary through post-secondary settings. She and her team are passionate about dismantling suffering in silence in the stands. Their greatest hope is to create an authentic Christ-like “community in the crowd” that inspires people to “stand out and stand strong” in their identities in Christ. Ultimately, the Crowd is His Crowd, and through the power of technology, it unites and empowers the Crowd’s mind, body, and spirit to best love themselves and one another so they can best serve within their Crowd.
Miranda serves in volunteer leadership positions in Kansas City. One is the Education Domain Leader with the UNITE KC movement – started under Dayton Moore’s leadership. Another place of service is the Educators Network Leader with the Sending Project – under Executive Director and Founder Eric Rochester. The Sending Project’s Educators Network is designed for teachers and leaders from the primary-university level who are ready and willing to go on mission together. Educators gather to discuss relevant topics backed with Biblical truths they want and need to explore in safe community. There is no better time for this network than now!
Miranda is busy raising her two children, Harrison and Presley, and creating memories with them outside of volunteer efforts. Miranda is often seen in the stands cheering for local teams and enjoys reading, writing, listening to podcasts, working out, and dancing in the kitchen with her children.
Miranda is a genuine #Cheerleader4Christ and devotes her life to increasing “the Crowd’s” ability to love themselves and others to expand the Kingdom of God.
